THE BUILDING OF THE ATLAS STORE
Posted on: 05/13 | Category: AtlasAs we get near the two year mark of Atlas being in business, we felt inclined to give a little insight on how we arrived to where we are today. Many do not know the whole story of what Atlas is about, or what it took for it to be what it is. Atlas is truly the result of a collaborative effort between good friends and family. From the design, to the build of every wall and fixture, the creation of Atlas was hands on. So in honor of a great two years, we wanted to share a few images of that process with you.

The site was truly a great platform for a store, however some work was needed.
The first step was pulling out the drop ceiling and tearing up the fake hardwood, to reveal the amazing original flooring that was almost 100 years of age and original to the building.
Next we had to start thinking about what we wanted Atlas to look like. Here are some original sketches.
The sketches were turned into computer renderings in order to give us a clear view of what we had to do.
The designs were complete, the next step was to have official plans of the store drawn up.
Once the plans were approved, we then started renovating.
After a few month's of building walls, hand sanding every piece of metal and wood inside Atlas, and installing every fixture, Atlas was completed.
