Emerging from his backyard studio slash record shack Jason Jägel’s drawings and paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1995. A 2008 monograph of his work, Seventy-Three Funshine, includes a ten-inch vinyl record with music by Madlib. Jagel has created record-cover art for Madlib, MF DOOM, Dudley Perkins, among others. His work appears in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The UCLA Hammer Museum and the Portland Museum of Art, among others. In 2012, he was awarded a fellowship from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. His first picture book, Hang Glider & Mud Mask, co-created with Brain McMullen was released in 2012. Jason lives with his wife and two daughters in San Francisco.
